Also, the only employees you ever see are the ones behind a register. It is very rare to find anyone to help with anything, other than taking your money, in the entire store.
And with so many exclusions on their coupons, I'm pretty sure the only reason they even print them is to lure people in...because once you try to use them, they NEVER seem to work...mainly because "doorbusters" are always excluded, and when there is a coupon, suddenly 3/4 of the whole store is a "doorbuster"!
The merchandise is overpriced, especially for the quality. My husband spent $60 on a pair of khakis last week. After washing them in cold water and drying on low, they shrunk so much that they were two inches too short, and this isn't the first time that has happened with clothes he has bought there.
The store is clean and well stocked. As for me a male the selection is great and the prices are okay. As for females they have a lot of items but most of it is ugly okay I'm sorry. Now as far as housing stuff such as she send pots and towels the selection is good the quality is amazing but most of it is somewhat pricey.
They used to have really great customer service. Not anymore. They don't have enough employees on the floor to give good service. I left after waiting 25 minutes for a pair of shoes to try on.
Belk used to be a great place to shop. Now, you can barely move inside the store. Racks of clothes practically touch other racks, plus endless merchandise displays crammed into isles make it very hard to get around the store. The fitting rooms are always filthy, and most don't even have a stool or more than one hook to hang things on.
The prices are too high. I don't think a pair of pants should cost $70 when I can get a good pair of pants from Walmart for a fraction of that. The changing rooms were dirty also.
Dislike children's department. Barely can walk through due to the racks shoved so close together.
